The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) was established in 1972, the chairman and deputy chairman of the board are appointed by the State Government. It has 16 Ex-officio members, 44 other members taken from other educational organizations, legislative bodies and civil society.
Gujarat Board provides guidance about the policies governing secondary and higher secondary education its development and qualitative enhancement. The GSEB conducts SSC examination every year as its primary examination in the month of March for which more than 9 lakh students appear in various examination centres across the country.
