The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) came into existence in the year 1975 by an Act of the Legislature to reform, recognize and consolidate school education in the State of Jammu and Kashmir. The vision of the Board is to enable students throughout Jammu and Kashmir State to realize their full potential.
The JK Board strives to fulfil its vision by achieving excellence in the development and implementation of academic plan for the students. For this purpose the Board performs several functions like framing the curriculum, developing the study material and conducting annual session and bi-annual session regular and private examinations for summer zone & winter zone its Secondary students and Higher Secondary students.

JKBOSE XII Class Exams 2015
The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education follows a semester system.
Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations or class XII exams are conducted twice in a year under semester system in accordance with the syllabi prescribed by the Board.
